This microphone is ideal for use plugged into a laptop computer and can be used to provide high quality recordings of meetings. Much better than the microphones built into laptops, this can be simply connected, placed in the centre of a table, and then it will record with good clarity, people all around it. Ideal for use where a conventional written record may be difficult or prone to error. The microphone is also able to have the directional pick up pattern altered to cardioid response. In this mode, the microphone picks up voices in one direction, but sounds from the rear are reduced. This would be useful if an audience was present, when the intention was to record a small group of speakers presenting. The noise of a audience shuffling papers or coughing can overwhelm a microphone designed to collect sound all around. This microphone, being switchable with a simple slide switch can cater for all kinds of meetings.
